NYS SupportHub

Accessibility Statement

Our Commitment

SupportHub is designed and developed with accessibility as a core requirement — not an afterthought. Every component is tested against WCAG 2.2 AA success criteria.

Accessibility Features

  • Full keyboard navigation — all interactive elements are reachable and operable without a mouse
  • Screen reader compatibility — semantic HTML, ARIA labels, and live regions for dynamic content
  • High contrast support — color contrast ratios meet or exceed 4.5:1 for normal text and 3:1 for large text
  • Text resizing — content reflows properly up to 200% zoom without loss of functionality
  • Visible focus indicators — clear, high-contrast focus rings on all interactive elements
  • Reduced motion support — animations respect the prefers-reduced-motion system setting

Standards We Follow

  • Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA
  • Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act
  • New York State Office of Information Technology Services accessibility policies
  • Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Title II

How We Test

  1. Automated testing — axe-core and Lighthouse audits run on every build to catch regressions early
  2. Manual testing — keyboard-only navigation and screen reader testing with NVDA, JAWS, and VoiceOver
  3. User testing — periodic usability sessions with assistive technology users to validate real-world experiences
